Photo Shoot

Coalville is just full of fun picture places. There are so many old barns and pieces of old farm equipment everywhere. I set out with the Vernon kids and boy did we have fun. It was so hard to get a picture with a serious face because we were all so busy laughing. Here are just a few of the pics. What a fun day!

Ode to my Mother

As most people know I like to keep things busy and moving, well . . . . let me tell ya that I don't move fast enough to keep up with Jeanette. She and my dad left for San Diego on Tuesday and on Wednesday I found myself making T-shirts, sewing straps on a prom dress and acting as the family physician on call. I fear I am not a very good fill-in. I just don't know how she keeps everything straight. Between her four jobs and being on-call to everyone in the town and helping paint my brother's house; She somehow still finds time for the family and spending time with the grandkids. She is truly an example. I am so blessed to have a talented mother that has past on some of those amazing talents to me. Love ya Mom---You are the greatest!

Bargain shopping

I took a trip to Albertsons today. Armed with my trusty folder, grocery smarts list and coupons I managed to save $164.93. I spent a total of $198.33, so that means I bought $363.26 worth of groceries for only 198.33. I saved nearly 50% It is just unreal. I am loving it!!! I have picked up some awesome tips from my sister in law, Jamie. So these are her ideas that I have found to be helpful.

Photoshop tool of the day

I have been working on skin smoothing, so my photoshop tool of the day is the Guassian Blur. I love it. These are more photos of Brynn and Steele, my niece and nephew. I used the blur and a mask. I also adjusted the contrast for a little more dramatic effect, and brightened the eyes.

Line

Hope this helps Amanda--its the only way I could get it to you. The file is too large for an email file. Thanks to Stacy for the video.

It's hard to tell by the picture, but this is a picture Trever folding clothes.
Notice the fifty piles.

I always give Trever a hard time about his sorting--or lack of. He usually starts with a pair of one of the kids pants and then adds on a shirt from one of the other kids'. By the time he is done it looks like this. Bryce's pants mixed with kira's shirt and a few washclothes. I just can't figure out the pattern to it. I usually like to separate pants from shirts and towels and so on, but Trever I guess walks on the wild side and just mixes things up a bit. And yes we have brown shag carpet, and that is a folding table in front of our TV--we are just embracing the white trashness of it all.

Kambree's Photoshoot

I made Tutus and hair bows for the girls for my sister's wedding. Kira and Kambree just love them. They are always running around in tutus. I also made some matching hair bows and decided to make a little photoshoot for Kambree. She wouldn't give up the ragged teddy bear, so I just put a bow on him too. It is one of her favorites.

I photoshopped these close up pictures. If any of you are wondering, I just look up techniques on youtube to learn how to do things. Then I create an action of what I have learned.

I love this picture because it seems to capture all her sweetness.

Photoshop tool of the day

Steele--he looks like he stepped out of a gap kids commercial.

This is Brynn's pic with acid wash, but I have to figure out how to lighten up her eye.

This is Brynn, she is such a cutie with her blue eyes and blonde hair.

I am loving my new camera, but needed some new models. So I enlisted my niece and nephew to help me out. We were able to get some amazing pictures by the old truck next to my house. (yes I pretty much live in a junk yard). I photoshopped these pictures using some eye brightening techniques I learned at my photoshop class and an acid wash. I am still learing but thought I would post the preliminary pics. I chose the perfect kids they had so much fun getting their picture taken.
P.S.. These were all taken with my new camera, for those who have asked me it is a D90 by Nikon.

Photoshop Fun.

I attended a photoshop class with Wendy and I learned some great ways to touch up and brighten eyes. I had this picture of Kambree and decided to try it out. Not too bad for my first time. I am really loving photoshop and still learing new things all the time.

Fire Tap Frenzy

With competition looming near, our dance team decided it was time for a marathon practice night. As you can see we clogged until long past our bed times. It ended up to be one big slumber party. We had so much fun, though I think we were all pretty tired after our practice this morning. As you can see, I am lucky to be part of such a fun group!

New Camera

Trever bought me this amazing camera for christmas. We have been testing it out. There is a lot to learn so I have been attending photography classes and Nikon classes to learn all about the trillion different camera buttons. We took some pictures of Bryce's first basketball game. It was so cute. I was so proud of him. The really just run back and forth with the ball while everyone yells out from the crowd to run the other way. It was hilarious! So here are the test photos.

The Good Samaritan

As I was driving to work this morning I found myself slipping and sliding on the freeway. Now, being the amazing winter driver I am have never been in an accident. I am usually traveling slow enough to prevent any sliding. I am also pretty good at getting myself out of a sliding situation. However, this morning was a different story. Try as I may, I could not pull my car out of the sudden spin. traveling backwards down the icy freeway (in the canyon) I realized I had only one option---either hit the cement barrier, or the snow covered mountain. I of course chose the latter! I loud thud followed by a sudden stop jolted me nearly out of my seat. I can't believe it my first accident. I fumbled for my phone to contact the charge nurse at my work. Shaking I told Diane that I didn't think I would make it in today. Diane's voice seemed to calm me a little and she asked if I was okay. I hung up the phone and just sat there thinking about what had happened, I tried a few times to test out the four wheel drive, but to no avail--I was stuck. Great now what. I called Trever and he immediately told me that he would take care of it. Several vehicles stopped to see if I was okay, and I told them that someone was on their way. Luckily the policeman that arrived on the scene was Justin Hemingway (a kid I knew from school) He was so nice and helped me check out the damages to my car. Then kind old man stopped and towed me out. He was such a good samaritan. So, I am grateful that there are still those kind of people in our world. The kind that are willing to stop at the side of the road and lend a helping hand. Thanks to my good samaritan I eventually made it home safely, a little shaken, but unharmed.

Spandex obsession

My sister gave these shorts to Kira last year for her birthday. She has pretty much worn them every day ever since. I think she loves them because they are from her favorite person. I am always sending Jalee pics of Kira in her spandex. Well today she came out of her room with spandex leggings and her spandex shorts over top. I don't quite know why, but she LOVES her spandex! Thanks Jalee!

She is one of a kind--with one of a kind style! Who knows, this exact outfit may show up in vogue next month!

SLACKER

So everyone at work is giving me a hard time about being a total blog slacker. I guess this post is for all the East 8ers. For a little update, I have been trying to scrapbook all of the pics from Disneyland and christmas so I will be posting them shortly. I have also been spending more time at work and less at home (hence the 3:00 am post). This makes for little computer time when I am at home. As for home--everyone is well and we are STILL working on building a house this spring. . . again. As for school, it just isn't going to work out this semester sadly, but I plan to keep myself busy with extra dance classes. On a side note, I need to leave a little note to Trever--Thank you for being so sweet--the flowers were so thoughtful--I love you.
That concludes my post--so everyone can just get off my back about it already :) :)
