Last week the kids were able to play outside in the sprinkler. It was so fun to be outside and enjoy some sunshine. Kira absolutely loves to wear her swimming suit, or as she likes to call it her "Swimming Soup". Kambree stood by the sidelines and watched for awhile. I guess it just looked like too much fun to be sitting out. She made a crawl for the sprinkler laughing and excited. Once she got to the sprinkler it was spraying her in the face, and she couldn't figure it out. It was so funny to watch her try to get away from the water, but fascinated by it at the same time.
Last Tuesday Bryce had his preschool Graduation. Miss Angie made them cute caps with tassels. They put on a little program to show us all the things they have learned this year. They also sang some of their favorite number songs. Way to go Bryce!!
I watched the flag pass by one day, It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Service man saluted it, And then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform, So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert, He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him, Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil. How many mother's tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down? How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldier's graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of Taps one night, When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play, And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times, that Taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children, Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands, with interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard, At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington
No, Freedom isn't free.
----Thanks to all those soldiers who have fought and given their lives to pay the price for my freedom. Thanks grandpa! We truly are the greatest nation because of those who sacrificed so much. Just like Moroni going into battle with a torn flag upon a stick--our soldiers carry that same spirit and message---Liberty and Freedom.
I have been working on this little book for kambree for a while. I found this cute story online about a baby talking to God about coming to earth. I thought it was so cute. I am going to get it printed into a hard cover book (they make those at costco for all you photoshoppers). I will let you know how it looks when it is all printed up. Hopefully you can read the text in this slide show.
It was finally warm enough last friday to take the kids to the park. They have been going crazy (and driving me crazy) being stuck at home. They were so excited to run around and play. The sunshine was AWESOME. I am getting so tired of the cold weather it was nice to feel the warm sun for a change. We all had a blast.
We were running around all day on Monday with Jalee. By the time we reached home, Kambree was fast asleep. She just looked so sweet and peaceful I had to get a pic.
I can't believe Trever and I have been married for 6 years. Wow--time has just flown by. Here's a picture of us out on the town celebrating. Actually, I am on my way to work and Trever is stuck at home with the kids. No time off for us. Hopefully we can celebrate this weekend. Any fun anniversary ideas??? I am always looking for something new and fun, dinner and a movie though fun, can get monotonous. So--three things I love about Trever (trust me there are a lot to choose from)
1. He always tries so hard to make me laugh--even when I don't want to. His sense of humor has gotten us through some tough times.
2. He is a fabulous labor coach--and as everyone knows labor and delivery are my favorite experiences in the world, and since I am not a fan of the epidural, a good coach is important.
3. He always has a good attitude
4. He is an AMAZING DAD.
okay so that is four things, but how can I not just brag a little. I have found quite the catch.
Anyway--Trever if you read this--I love you. Happy anniversary.
Everyone has been so excited about this box lately. The Kids have been using it for their "secret fort". Kira and Bryce get a kick out of watching Kambree crawl in the box and play peek-a-boo. While Bryce was at preschool last week, the girls were playing in the box. It was nice to see them sharing and playing together without Kira getting upset. So I am thinking that I should just buy a huge box for Christmas next year!
So I am loving photoshop more with each new technique I learn. This drawn image is the latest.
I took a couple of pictures of the kids and photoshopped them to look like drawings. I am still working on putting them into the backround of a scrapbook page. Maybe I will post it when I figure that one out.
Today was ear piercing day. Trever's rule is that I can get the girls' ears pierced after they are six months. So, since Kambree is now eight months old as of yesterday, I decided it was time. She was so good and she barely even cried. They just look so dang cute. Some may think it is torture to put your kids through that, but they don't even remember. I always loved having earings and I am glad I wasn't old enough to remember.
As everyone knows I just love oreos and milk--double stuff of course. Well, apparently, Kira loves oreos too. I usually wait until she is napping or in bed to eat them. However, today I just couldn't wait--I think I am slightly addicted. So, I decided the laundry could wait and Kira and I spent some oreo time together.
